Implantology
Who is it for?
A dental implant is an artificial root placed in the bone to support a crown, a bridge or a denture. It lets us replace one or more missing teeth without touching the neighbouring teeth. Every case starts with a careful diagnosis, because bone, gums and bite are different in every patient.
- One or more missing teeth
- Teeth that can no longer be saved and need to be extracted
- Bridges or dentures that no longer feel stable
- Patients whose bone and general health allow treatment, as assessed by the doctor
How it works
- DiagnosisA clinical examination and panoramic X-ray; when the doctor considers it necessary, a 3D scan (CBCT) as well.
- Treatment planWe explain the options, the number of implants, the stages and an approximate timeline before you decide.
- Implant placementThe procedure is done under local anaesthetic. Some cases first need extractions or bone preparation.
- HealingThe implant needs time to integrate with the bone, usually a few months. In the meantime you may have a temporary solution.
- Final restorationOnce the implant is stable, the final crown, bridge or denture is fitted and the bite is checked.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Does implant placement hurt?
It's done under local anaesthetic, so you usually feel no pain during the procedure. For the first few days there may be swelling or mild discomfort, managed by following the doctor's instructions.
How long does the whole treatment take?
It depends on the case. After placement, the implant usually needs a few months to integrate with the bone before the final crown. The doctor confirms the timeline for your case after the diagnosis.
How many trips will I need from abroad?
Implants usually involve two stages, placement and then, after healing, the final restoration, so often two trips. Send us your panoramic X-ray or a few photos, and the doctor will confirm the plan after the assessment.
Am I a candidate for implants?
Only the doctor can say, after an examination. Bone volume, gum health and your general health, for example diabetes or smoking, are all taken into account.
How much does a dental implant cost?
It depends on the number of implants, any preliminary treatment and the final restoration. Pricing is set after your consultation or photo assessment.
